The Investigation Service is an executive agency of the Department of Justice and was setup by Part 3, Section 3 of the Crime and Courts Act 2017 to assist the Department of Justice in investigating crimes. The Investigation Service has a range of powers available and can interview any person in connection with an investigation. All the members of the Investigation Service are appointed by the Attorney General.
The Crime and Courts Act 2017 established a scheme for certifying members of the Investigation Service by the Attorney General. If you wish to join the Investigation Service as a member you must complete the exam below and be appointed by the Attorney General. Investigation Service members have the power to initiate investigations against crimes in the White House area.
